Taylor Swift is all set to take a trip to the moon.
MTV style.
The Wyomissing native has graduated from nominee to performer at this year’s VMA’s — and is poised to perform her hit single “You Belong to Me.”
One tiny step for country crossover, another huge leap for Swift.
She was a red carpet fashion correspondent and was nominated last year for the teen equivalent of the Grammys, but lost out to Tokio Hotel.
The show, which airs on Sept. 13 and will be hosted again by funny man Russell Brand, never disappoints.
And Swift will be doing her part to ensure an amazing show.
“I’m so excited that MTV and the VMAs have invited me to perform, because I think this year’s show will be unlike anything they’ve ever done!” she said of her first appearance on the VMA stage.
“I love incorporating theatrics into my performances, and the VMAs have always allowed artists to run with that,” she said. “MTV has been so good to me. And I could not be more excited about this year’s VMAs.”
If the past year is any indication of what lies ahead for the singer, there will be many coveted moonman statues in her future.
