POLICE: FEMALE ROBS BANK

A woman robbed a bank in Palmyra on Oct. 2, and she is now suspected in four other bank robberies in August and September, borough police said.
The suspect displayed a note demanding money at the Metro Bank on East Main Street, but she did not display a weapon, police said. She left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money, police said.
No one was injured in the robbery.
The suspect is described as a white female, 5 feet 4 inches, with strawberry blonde hair, and wearing a hat and glasses, police said.
A woman with a similar description also is suspected of robbing the Frederick County National Bank in Wakersville, Md., on Aug. 14, the M&T Bank in Frackville on Aug. 27, the PNC Bank in Union Mills, Md., on Aug. 28, and the M&T Bank in Wrightsville on Sept. 9, police said.
Palmyra police said they are investigating a connection among the robberies.

Troopers: Two people push each other
Howard Knerr, of Pitman, and Lourdes Adams, of Far Rockaway, N.Y., allegedly got into a verbal argument and pushed each other in the Lowes parking lot area in East Norwegian Township on Oct. 3, state police at Schuylkill Haven said.

Pumpkin punks damage property
Goons threw pumpkins that damaged a vehicle and a store in Hegins Township on Oct. 3 or Oct. 4, state police at Schuylkill Haven said.
The vehicle, which belongs to Kevin Fetterolf, was on West Maple Street, state police said.
The goons damaged two large front store windows on Family Dollar on Forrest Drive, state police said.

Losers grab three ramp loaders
Goons swiped three metal roller track ramp loaders from inside a semi trailer belonging to United States Express in the parking area of All America Plaza on Camp Swatara Road near Fort Motel Drive in Bethel Township, Berks County, between Sept. 25 and Sept. 28, township police said.
The goons entered the semi trailer by breaking open the padlocked doors, police said.
United States Express is in Chattanooga, Tenn.

Three vehicles strike deer
Three vehicles struck deer in three separate accidents in Cornwall and West Cornwall Township recently, Cornwall police said.
A vehicle driven by Amanda Kercher, 21, of Myerstown, struck a deer that ran onto the road on Route 322 near Boyd Street in Cornwall, police said.
A vehicle struck a deer on Route 72 near Route 322 in Cornwall, and kept going, police said.
A vehicle driven by Tuan Schumann, 40, of Lebanon, struck a deer than ran into the road on Route 72 near Alden Lane in West Cornwall Township, police said.

Creeps swipe items from construction site
Losers swiped 11 mount plates and three concrete forms from a construction site on the grounds of Met-Ed on Four Point Road near Merkey Drive in Bethel Township, Berks County, between Sept. 24 and Sept. 26, township police said.
The victim is Steve Henne Masonry, of Bernville.
The 14 pieces of steel are valued at about $760.

Vehicle strikes vehicle on road
A vehicle struck a vehicle driven by Jeffrey Mayer II, 16, of Annville, on North Railroad Street in Palmyra on Sept. 30, and kept going, traveling north, borough police said.
The accident occurred when Mayer was parking his vehicle, police said.
The suspect vehicle is described as a silver Pontiac Grand Prix, police said.

Losers swipe shoe sign
Losers swiped a shoe sign from the front of Bauer Shoe Store on West Main Street in Annville on Sept. 29, township police said.
Annville found the sign on the Lebanon Valley College campus and returned it.

Vehicles collide in Annville
Vehicles driven by Jonathan Perlberg, 19, of Harrisburg, and Ismael Santiago-Gonzalez, 61, of Lebanon, were in an accident on West Main Street in Annville on Oct. 1, township police said.

Troopers: Man had marijuana plant
A man allegedly was found in possession of a large, recently cultivated marijuana plant while a state constable was attempting to serve a mortgage foreclosure notice at a home on Stag Drive at Lake Wynonah in South Manheim Township on Oct. 1, state police at Schuylkill Haven said.
The plant allegedly was in plain view, lying on the kitchen floor, state police said.
The suspect is Ryan Townsend, 24.

POLICE: 2 HAD DRUG PARAPHERNALIA

Two people allegedly had possession of drug paraphernalia and diminutive residue of drugs in the parking area of the Conservative Baptist Brethren Church on East Chestnut Street in Frystown on Sept. 4, Bethel Township, Berks County, police said.
The suspects, Todd Rittel, 23, and a 16-year-old boy, both of Myerstown, were charged with disorderly conduct.

Vehicle strikes mailbox stand
A vehicle struck a mailbox stand on Meckville Road near Frystown Road in Bethel Township, Berks County, on Sept. 22, and kept going, township police said.
The vehicle is described as a silver foreign-made full-size sports passenger vehicle, police said.
The victim is Lucille Brubaker, 61.

Vehicle hits utility pole
A vehicle driven by Luann Sellard, 44, of Palmyra, struck a utility pole on East Maple Street at South Prince Street in Palmyra on Sept. 24, borough police said.
Sellard was transported to HMCER for evaluation.

POLICE: 4 SHOT PAINTBALLS AT GARAGES

Four people allegedly shot paintballs at garages on West Main Street in Palmyra on Sept. 6, borough police said.
John Fackenhall, 19, Stephanie Myers, 20, and William Mahaffey, 18, all of Palmyra, and a 16-year-old girl were cited with criminal mischief.
The victim is Dennis Stoner, 63.

Air brake inspections take 504 commercial vehicles off roads
State troopers and motor carrier enforcement officers inspected air brakes on 2,454 commercial motor vehicles recently, and placed 504, or 20.5 percent, of the vehicles out of service during Brake Safety Week, Commissioner Frank Pawlowski said.
“Faulty air brakes greatly increase the stopping distance for large vehicles, which increases the risk to the driver of the vehicle and to others on the road,” Pawlowski said.
Officers conducted roadside inspections and educated drivers, mechanics and others on the importance of proper brake inspection, maintenance and operation.
Pawlowski said 1,839 citations and 3,795 written warnings were issued during the five-day operation from Sept. 14 through Sept. 18.
During a similar operation in May, state police inspected the air brakes of 1,560 commercial motor vehicles and placed 326, or 21 percent, out of service.
Lt. Raymond Cook, commander of the Commercial Vehicle Safety Section of the state police Bureau of Patrol, said Brake Safety Week was sponsored by the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance, an organization whose membership includes law enforcement officials, truck and bus companies, industry associations, and insurance companies in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

POLICE: 3 BURGLARS BAGGED

Three men were arrested in connection with burglaries at Forti’s Radiator Shop on South Mark Street in Palmyra on Sept. 10 and Sept. 13, borough police said.
The suspects, Justin Kireta, 21, of Grantville, Justin Lingle, 20, of Middletown, and Nicholas Lingle, 18, of Middletown, were arrested an address in Middletown on Sept. 17, police said.
Kireta, Justin Lingle and Nicholas Lingle were charged with burglary, receiving stolen property, and criminal conspiracy. They were placed in Lebanon County prison, with bail set at $60,000 for Kireta, $50,000 for Justin Lingle, and $25,000 for Nicholas Lingle.
Palmyra police, assisted by state police, made the arrests.
Police said additional arrests are pending.
